A |     Filmmaker Arun Matheswaran has officially wrapped the schedule of his upcoming film DC, marking a key milestone for one of the most talked about projects in Tamil cinema. The director, known for his atmospheric storytelling and rugged visual sensibilities, announced the update on his social media, sending fans of both his work and that of Lokesh Kanagaraj into an eager tizzy.Arun Matheswaran completes filming on his ambitious new dramaDC brings together two of the industry's most distinctive creative voices, this time on opposite sides of the camera. Lokesh Kanagaraj, celebrated for his craft as a director and fresh off the mammoth success of Coolie headlined by Rajinikanth, steps into a full-fledged lead role for the first time. The film takes its title from its principal characters Devadas and Chandra. Mukesh G serves as director of photography and is expected to bring the brooding tonal palette he has become known for. GK Prasanna steps in as editor while S Kannan handles production design that is likely to give DC its textured, lived in aesthetic. The stunt choreography is helmed by PC Stunts who have consistently delivered high impact action blocks for some of the biggest titles in the South.Arun Matheswaran last directed Captain Miller starring Dhanush, which hit theatres in 2024 and cemented his position as a filmmaker who blends scale with sharp narrative edges. His move to DC signals a creative continuation, though this time with the added spotlight of guiding Lokesh Kanagaraj in his first major acting outing.                                         Wamiqa Gabbi, who has swiftly become a pan Indian presence, was most recently seen in Bhool Chuk Maaf. She is currently awaiting the release of multiple Hindi projects including Pati Patna Aur Woh Do, Bhooth Bangla, Tiki Taka, and Genie. With DC, she adds yet another varied character to her growing roster of performances.Lokesh, meanwhile, carries only minimal on-screen experience despite his formidable directorial fame. Apart from a cameo in Vijay's Master and a brief appearance in Shruti Haasan's music video Inimel, he has remained largely behind the camera. She took this moment to call him “the real Dhurandhar.” In a heartfelt Instagram post accompanied by a warm picture with the filmmaker, the young actor expressed immense gratitude for the guidance, compassion and trust he offered her throughout the making of the film. She went on to say that it supported her, she says, not just her performance, but her personal growth.     In her note, Sara praised Dhar as someone with “a golden heart and the courage to trust,” describing him as invincible, grounded and gifted in equal measure. She wrote that his wisdom and humility left a profound impact on her, and that he became one of the most precious takeaways from her debut experience. To her, he exemplified brilliance without arrogance, something which was “brilliant, yet grounded; accomplished, yet a pure soul.”     Sara also highlighted Dhar’s calm, collected leadership on set, recalling how he held the team together with patience and steadiness. “You were the strength that held us all together,” she wrote, noting that he never raised his voice, even in challenging situations. She referenced his much-repeated mantra, “Arjun ki nazar sirf aankh par thi”, saying that his unwavering clarity of vision inspired her to stay focused and fearless. Most importantly, she said, Dhar never made her feel like a newcomer. “You made me feel capable,” she wrote, thanking him for creating a rare, nurturing environment where she felt safe to grow, experiment and evolve.     Sara concluded her note by calling Dhar one of the greatest gifts of Dhurandhar, the real DhuranDHAR. She concluded by expressing gratitude for the safe space he created.
